About Snel

Frans Snel started a bicycle workshop in 1938 at the Amsterdamsestraatweg 414 in Utrecht, which he named after himself. And with such an appropriate name, we are not surprised (Snel means "fast" in Dutch).

The store is still located at the same address and also still in the hands of the family. After Frans's son Fred, the third generation now sells various types of custom-made bicycles under the family name, including road and track bikes. Frames were built by Jan van Dalen, known for his own brand Duell and Presto, among others.
